Study Questions for Wilder- Farmer Boy

Hello!

I'm new to TJED, and I just finished my first classic in a long time: Farmer Boy, by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

I'm searching out some meaningful questions to study and ponder, in order to get to the spirit of Wilder's writing.

Please share with me your experiences in learning from classics in your personal education.

I looked through the Home Companion, and didn't find any discussion questions that correlated with Wilder's books.

Anything you can suggest would be helpful,

With love and gratitude!

I really appreciate the suggested questions. I will be searching my soul for the answers!

Take care!

Farmer Boy

I haven't read it for quite a while, so these are general questions, rather than book-specific:

What most impressed you about his upbringing?
How does it compare to your own? To your children's?
What advantages did he have? Disadvantages?
What in the book would you like to do in your own life?
What would you definitely Not want to do?
Why?
What do you learn about yourself by observing these differences and similarities?
What principles and basic assumptions is the book based on?
What are your core principles?
Does this book strengthen or change what you want? In what ways?
Is this book worth reading again? Why or why not?
Does it spur you to action or to further thought? Which actions? Which thoughts?
What will you do with what you have learned?
