CLASSICS YOUTH RETREAT
CALLING ALL INTERESTED PARENTS AND YOUTH
I'm helping with a youth camp this summer, Liberli•ber (lī´bər) [Latin liber, a book, from the sense of bark, and this from stripping, separating. Hence liber, a book, and liber, free, are the same word. WBST.1828] 1. noun one of two population classes in ancient Greece and Rome, the other being the slave class, which had the abilities to read, write, and contract, thus being free. 2. adjective having been educated in the arts which maintain freedom, i.e. the liberal arts [Latin artes liberales]. Youth Retreat (Aug 22-25), sponsored by George Wythe Institute Canada. "This year's reading material will be a huge part of [the] experience at LYR. [The readings] will be spring boards for deep discussions filled with learning.
[The] classic books, will inspire youth for years to come, if they choose to let them" (LYR Camp Flyer). I'm spreading the word to anyone who could benefit from this experience as an adult volunteer, a college aged counselor, or a camper (ages 12-18). It's a 3 day youth conference (camp over-night), I LOVED being a counsellor for this camp. It's completely inspiring to meet such fun and great youth with vision. I came away uplifted, driven, and I'm super excited to be involved again, and I invite you to let your youth know about it! Please let me know if you are interested.. and anyone in your circle of family and/or friends
